Join fellow members of the Andover community in a day of service at the DC Central Kitchen! This will be a food prepping shift and will involve cutting vegetables, prepping salads, packing meals, and other kitchen related activities. Participants 12+ are welcome to join. The only skills required are a positive attitude and the willingness to work hard! Volunteers must be able to stand for three hours but will not be required to lift heavy loads. There are benches located around the Volunteer Zone if breaks are needed throughout the shift. DCCK will also accommodate volunteers that may not want to work with meat. Learn more through DCCK's volunteer FAQs, including what to wear!

About the DC Central Kitchen:
The DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is an iconic nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. The organization provides hands-on culinary job training for individuals facing high barriers to employment while creating living wage jobs and bringing nutritious, dignified food where it is most needed. DCCK’s social ventures include serving scratch-cooked farm-to-school meals in DC schools, delivering fresh, affordable produce to corner stores in neighborhoods without supermarkets, and operating fast-casual cafes throughout the District of Columbia.

Please note that registering below is for the Office of Alumni Engagement tracking only. Volunteers will also need to register directly with the organization. Additional information will be included in your confirmation email.
